We will dedicate this interesting travelogue and answer the question of which islands to visit in French Polynesia.
For the first time, I was afraid to publish a small part of my unforgettable adventures. With a small part of the photos I wanted to show that Bora Bora, Moorea and Tahiti are not the only luxury hotel complexes …
Mysterious, amazing or fascinating – maybe a combination of all this is French Polynesia. Here are half a dozen of the most unusual islands in the world that I was lucky enough to visit some of them, albeit for a short time …. French Polynesia – heaven on earth or more precisely for me the islands are a “powerful magnet” …
My first impressions were the aroma and colors of this earthly paradise, but in the end it turned out that the greatest treasure of this paradise are people who are in complete harmony with nature. Vibrant and carefree with open hearts for the neighbors and bystanders with the ease of life and managed to preserve that pure childlike innocence …
Islands to visit in French Polynesia
Moorea met me with exceptional people that I already miss and amazing places to which I will always return …
It was also the island that impressed me the most. I enjoyed from the heart of the ethno evenings with traditional food for the island, music and dancing. I enjoyed the harmony, the feeling of the soul being open, free and enjoying everything. I wish it to everyone from the bottom of my heart!
There were also strange facts that impressed me greatly. Facts I had never heard of when it came to French Polynesia – the third sex “mahu”.
In time, I learned that traditionalist families raised their eldest sons as women to combine the best of both sexes and believed that mahu had divine qualities. In fact, they were really amazing cuties … It’s hard, but it’s a fact that I overcame the real danger of staying forever
to this tropical paradise, but I will certainly return to life and health again.
Islands of Rangiroa and Fakarava are some of the most beautiful in French Polynesia. The islands are a diver’s paradise and one of the best diving destinations after the Great Barrier Reef. For lovers of underwater marine life, this is a very good opportunity that should not be missed.
The two islands are also the largest atolls in this part of the world. In Rangiroa is one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world Blue Lagoon, which in my opinion, along with the lagoon in Aitutaki from the Cook Islands are favorites. The lagoon is more beautiful than the one in Bora Bora.
The best natural landmarks in French Polynesia
There are only a few hotels and many guest houses on the island. Fakarava Island is also a unique place. There are no hotels here, accommodation is only in guest houses. The island has the most beautiful beaches in French Polynesia – Hirifa and PK 9 beach.
For me, these are some of the most enjoyable islands I have seen in more than 23 years of traveling around the world. These two islands are often overlooked by tourists at the expense of Bora Bora and Moorea island, but in my opinion they are even more amazing than them.
The name of the archipelago is Pora Pora, part of the social islands and means firstborn, but due to the lack of “B” in the Tahitian dialect and misunderstood by foreigners, the name became Bora Bora. Your love affair with this fabulous island begins the moment you see it with your own eyes.
Mount Otenanu, 727 m high, is mostly shrouded in clouds, which only complement the unique picture as a postcard. A former volcanic island surrounded by small islets and a barrier reef that define the boundaries of the Bora Bora lagoon and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
